Internal Sales Representative UK (full-time, permanent)

The Power Transmission Division of Tsubakimoto UK Limited provides drive & conveyor chain products to the power transmission industry. Tsubakimoto is the largest chain manufacturer in the world and supplies high-quality products to the market. As an Internal Sales representative, the focus will be on dealing with customer inquiries, preparing quotations that align with the customer requirements to generate an order, and coordinating orders from point of order to completed purchase order. Internal sales have a role to play in supporting external business activities to achieve sales targets and profitability.

Key tasks:

  • Handle customer inquiries to generate quotations.
  • Internal communication with sales representatives, engineering, procurement, warehouse, logistics, etc
  • Follow up on pending quotes to convert to orders.
  • Negotiate and solve objections with customers related to quoted prices and deliveries.
  • Processing and updating information on ERP and CRM systems.
  • Develop product, application, and market knowledge related to the company's activities.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills & competencies:

  • Experience in a similar role/ undertaking technical quotes/ reading technical drawings and administration tasks.
  • Excellent phone manners, and excellent communication skills in both verbal and written.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • IT - ERP and CRM experience, good MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams.
  • Commercial understanding of product cost, gross margin, and selling price relationships.
  • A basic technical / engineering education or background is desirable.
  • A background in Mechanical Power Transmission/ Bearings/ Technical Product manufacturing or sales and distribution is desirable.
  • Attention to detail/accuracy whilst working to deadlines due to the time-critical nature of the tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
