When a bucket elevator manufacturer was experiencing reliability problems with its backstop clutches, resulting in intensive maintenance and frequent replacement, it turned to Tsubaki for a solution.

Replacing the trapped roller design with a sprag clutch delivered higher torque capacity and longer life.
Bucket elevators provide a simple but effective mechanism of hauling and lifting flowable or semi-flowable bulk materials, including grain, fertiliser, foods, wastes and minerals, often into storage silos.

Tsubakimoto Europe is helping mining equipment OEMs respond to mining company demands for increased reliability and improved after-sales service, highlighting the capability, affordability and availability throughout Europe of its chain & power transmission products for mining applications.

With mining companies throughout Europe and around the globe relying on OEMs for strategic parts and equipment, a recent survey identified the pressures that OEMs are under to meet the service levels expected of them whilst also remaining cost competitive.

Tsubakimoto Europe is helping OEMs to address these requirements on two fronts with its extensive range of chain products.

The efficiency and reliability of a chain driven system highly depends on the interaction between the chain and sprocket. Just the smallest discrepancy in size can lead to stress damage to the chain, while low quality materials can cause the sprocket to wear and require early replacement. The Tsubaki range of sprockets has been manufactured from high quality steels to integrate seamlessly with all standard chain sizes and ensure a long and reliable service life.

All of the carbon steel sprockets supplied by Tsubaki as standard from stock feature induction hardened teeth to ensure that the wear life of both the sprocket and chain is maximised.

The quarrying and mining industries have some of the most arduous working conditions for plant and equipment, which makes designing a product that will endure the environment and deliver reliable performance a difficult task.

The Tsubaki Group is the leading manufacturer of mining chains, cam clutches and power cylinders which are used in underground mines, surface mines, preparation plants, power stations and port facility applications. We currently manufacture many different sizes of mine chains for several major OEMs. This relationship enables us to design upgrades for the chain in the mining equipment to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry.

We use alloy-grade steels, heat-treated to precise specifications and assembled with the heavy press-fits required to withstand the punishment of today's more powerful, high production mining equipment. Our complete line of mining chains includes Feeder Breaker Chain, Super Shuttle Car Chain, as well as various chains which are widely used in drill rigs, rotary breakers, face/roof drilling, reclaimers, under cutters, prep plants, continuous miners, roof support machines, and continuous haulage systems.

The Tsubaki Group is also proud to provide a wide variety of in-house designed sprockets, which are required in all chain applications, as well as other related products such as our highly reliable and strictly tested cam clutches and power cylinders, One-Touch Inspection Door® etc. Furthermore, as the Tsubaki Group prides itself on its ability to answer customer's demanding needs through innovative customisation of its products, we are able to manufacture Made-to-Order chains and attachment configurations, sprockets, etc., for your individual requirements.
